Home Decor: Before & Afters

As most of you know, I've always loved posting about our DIY projects and our home decor progress. We've spent so much time trying to turn this place into a home that best represents us. Even with the challenges of renting and not being able to tear down or build, we've at least been lucky to find a place that will let us paint to our hearts content.. and I completely believe in "a little paint goes a long way."
Here are a couple more projects we just tackled:
Our kitchen was covered in almost 40 old/rusted/tacky gold cabinet knobs. Since we had so many to change out, it took a long time to find reasonably priced replacements. At long last we found some wooden 2 for $1 knobs at a nearby hardware store and used some spray paint that we already had from previous projects to spice the cabinets up a bit with a touch of color.
There were so many yellow walls in this house when we first moved in, and even though I loooove me some yellow, it just wasn't cutting it for one reason or another. Now, what I'm also a big fan of is chalkboard paint! And I thought what better place for it than the kitchen? We can write grocery lists, draw pictures, write reminders, and even leave little love notes for eachother to find when we come downstairs in the mornings! I'm pretty much obsessed with our kitchen wall now, and the red/white/gray/black theme is cool too.
We also finally painted the wall between the kitchen/living room a light gray. I love how it brought everything together and how much lighter it made the room look.
Hope you like what we've done so far!
