We've got some big decisions to make and even bigger changes to adapt to as a result. Last night D and his brother were working a side job in the middle of the night and on the way home they were hit by a drunk driver. Thank goodness they were wearing their seat belts and they're ok, but it was a really scary night and we're taking it as a big sign. We've been considering relocating and/or D making a job change for a while now and there are way too many other details to explain but there's been talk of moving. I can't imagine leaving Hawaii but at the same time if it relieves the intense stress of work for D, he's home more often, and we're closer to family, it might just be what's best for our little family right now. Nothing is set in stone, and everything is a possibility. It's such a strange place to be put in so suddenly. Especially when we only have about a month to make all these decisions.
Send some positive vibes our way 'cause right now we really need some clarity.

ReplyDeleteHey Jessica,
ReplyDeleteI really hope everything works out for your fam. I know leaving Hawaii can be tough. I did it four years ago and I still miss it. But when I get those feelings about Hawaii I think of all the good that came from leaving-I met my husband, got a job I love and I'm close to family. Just remember any decision about moving will be the right one as long as you guys are happy!!
PS-I'm glad your husband and his brother are ok, thats scary stuff!

Oh wow! Since my husband is in the army, we have to make a lot of last minute decisions, changes, and moves, too. We still don't know where we're moving in three months!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I'm sure it'll all work out, one way or another.
So glad they're both okay! I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been. Hope things work themselves out for the very best + sending good vibes and happy thoughts towards you!
ReplyDeleteThat really hit me hard. I don't even know what to say... I know priorities change after a baby and I know you will do whatever it is best, and whatever that choice is, it will be the right choice. Even if the right thing to do has less pros than cons, it will be just that, the right thing for your family. Please take care. I know it's not much, especially from a stranger, but I am sending my best wishes and thoughts to you and your family.
ReplyDeletegood luck! everything will work out if you follow your heart.

ReplyDeleteFeel free to talk to me about any of this. The boy and I are in that in between stage as well and we might be making a cross country move in the near future, which would take us away from everyone and everything we've known. Scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. I believe everything happens for a reason and timing is everything. You guys will make the right decision and I'm glad everyone is alright.
BIG.HUGE.POSITIVE.VIBES... I hope that helps & I'm sure you guys will end up making the best decision for your family. Cuz at the end of the day, that is all that matters!!! ~ Jessica from Los Angeles

I'm so sorry to read about your husband but glad to hear that it wasn't serious. Sometimes these things are meant to grab our attention. my husband and I actually just moved to Maui pretty quickly after some major changes in our life. He left his job and we got rid of everything we owned to live with my in-laws for a while. It also happened quickly, but if you know it's what is right for your family and you can stand behind that then you'll be fine! Looking back, it was a great decision to come here and have my husband leave his job so we could pursue the projects we needed to do.
ReplyDeleteBlessings as you make this decision, Jess
OMG, so scary about the drunk driver. I'm so glad you hubby is ok! Good luck with your big decisions about moving...you know Washington state is awfully nice if you have to move. : )
ReplyDeleteoh good luck with everything! thank goodness they are okay. I wouldn't want to leave Hawaii either, if I were you. It's just too beautiful! But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do
ReplyDeletethank you all so much for your well wishes and concerns.. i still don't know how we could possibly make a decision so quickly but it's nice to know how much love and support we have from all of you along with our families. we really appreciate it XOXO

Sorry to hear about what happened to D. Hopefully you guys can come to the right decision that feels best for your family <3
ReplyDeleteMe and my partner feel the same about if we should move or not. We are expecting our baby in late August and at the moment have an ok 2 bed house but the area is close to a badish area where I keep hearing storys of gang murders :( Sheffield in the u.k has always been my home but my partner is from harrogate and he still has family there to. We have talked about moving to there but I am not keen to leave all of my family and we are not keen to leave all of our friends. Lately there has been some really random hit n run storys in all different areas and I am not sure if it is safe for us to stay and bring up our child well anymore. I hope that you and your family will make the right move forward and that you will all be safe and there are no silly gang murders near you! x
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that D is ok. As soon as I read the teaser in my reader my heart sank. You're at a crossroads and it sounds like you're approaching it the right way. I hate when people tell me, but it's true that everything happens for a reason.
ReplyDeletei'm so glad he's ok!!!
ReplyDeletei know how you feel...our family has had to live by the seat of our pants many times. i'll pray for you guys. have faith. the right answer will feel good inside. <3
the most important thing to remember is that everyone is okay. if you believe that moving will help protect your family then you gotta do what you gotta do! positive vibes coming strong from toronto, canada! hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI'm a firm believer in prayer.. God's Glory is amazing and it works!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and your family to have wisdom as you face this big decision and that you will be blessed!!
Oh my gosh! Thank goodness everyone is ok...that's so scary! We're in the process of moving too, although not far it's still stressful. You know, Southern Cali isn't too bad :)
ReplyDeleteVibes...vibes...vibes...! I can't imagine how scary that must have been for your family. Fingers crossed you can make a decision quickly! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm a big believer in signs. Usually, I don't notice they are signs until after something has happened, but I also believe that everything will work out. Sending positive vibes to you and your family. ;)
ReplyDeletePositive vibes are being set your way! I hope the decision making process isn't stressful. <3
ReplyDeleteWow that is such a scary thing to go through! I have had a friend die from drunk driving. People just dont get how serious it really is. Well I hope you and your family are safer in the future and everything works out! :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought we would leave Hawaii. Our move to Oregon was the best possible move we could have made. Everyone has thrived here and my family is now closer as well. You leave behind lots of things when you go, but new, wonderful things are around the corner for you. Don't forget you always have family here too..Love you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your hubs & his brother are okay - how terrifying.
ReplyDeleteWow, those moments are scary and also state where you start to think of the value of things you didnt consider before.
ReplyDeleteYou will find whats right for your family, change is always good and as long as family is safe and taken care of, love can grow, and happy days are ahead.
Holy crap, how scary!!! I'm so happy D & his brother are okay.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you positive vibes! Things will work just fine, and I'm sure you will make the best decision for you & your family. *hugs*
I'm srry I 'm sooo late on the news and man oh man I am glad everyone is alright. I wish you the best on your decisions. I recently have been put in the same position...It is hard to leave everything behind and start anew...I still don't know what I'm going to do. If you need someone to talk to I'm your girl. Best of wishes
ReplyDeleteI am sending good vibes for clarity! I hope it helps. I'd like to say that Austin, TX rocks my socks off, just in case you were wondering. ;)
