My Birthday Party

Well folks my birthday party was a big hit! We put a lot of time and love into planning it so it felt really good to see it all come together and everyone enjoying the results.
It was a BOW PARTY! Ladies could wear a bow of any kind (in the hair, on their outfits, etc.) and the gentlemen wore bow ties!
Like I mentioned before, my friend Hannah agreed to help with the planning and she ended up making the fondant for the cupcakes, homemade chocolate lollipops, and the bows on sticks. Without her help, I couldn't have pulled all my ideas together in only 5 days so I give her major credit!
It all started with a little meeting with her on Monday, planning and organizing our ideas and then venturing out and about to fetch the supplies throughout the week.
Party day! D surprised me and took the day off from work! We spent the entire day finishing odds and ends and setting up.
D made vegan frosting and cupcakes for our vegan guests.
Hannah made bows and hot glued them onto sticks for any guests that might show up sans bow/bow tie.
We all filled about 150 balloons with helium..
Rowan really didn't like the sound the helium tanks made so she had to wear her ear muffs..
Then I set up a little with Rowan in the Baby Bjorn.
Before we knew it, the party hour was upon us... and the setup looked awesome!
The dessert/party favor table..
Hannah made all the fondant bows/bow ties for the cupcakes! Sooo cute!
Vegan cupcakes..
We had a "Ladies" side and a "Gents" side of the table..
The booze & other beverages area..
Ok this was my favorite idea of the night! I wanted to have a "photo area" but knew I'd be taking pictures of everyone for them all night so I wanted to set up something unique and special. I used two frames I already had and D hung them from the ceiling about a foot and a half away from the wall. When our guests arrived I took pictures of their profiles(couples together, facing each other) and I'm photoshopping their pictures into silhouettes this week!!! This idea was a big hit!
Here's a rough idea of how they look.. these were just tester pics I took and photoshopped of D the night before the party(and the final product has been perfected since), but you get the idea! So awesome!
Our "victory!" picture for finishing on time and kicking ace..
D was the chef, cooking fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and/or chicken with BOW TIE pasta, and we also had a vegan sauce option, garlic bread and caesar salad.
Hannah put on her handmade bow(it was crocheted!) and Rowan played with the balloons for a bit before bedtime..
Then our guests started to arrive.
Time to eat!
They sang "Happy Birthday" and I blew out my cupcake candle, then it was dessert time!
We also had little cheesecake samples..
Then it turned into the best balloon extravaganza dance party ever!
The night started winding down, guests started heading home, and we poured ourselves one more little drink before heading off to bed..
Hello 26, I greet you with a bang.
