Our office is finally done! We still have a few little odds and ends coming in the mail but they're just minor details that I can share with you later. We also plan to paint the frames of the three art posters gray to match the room a little more but, again, minor detail.
Originally the room color scheme was white, yellow, gray & teal but in the end I decided to go with seafoam green instead because I loved the retro feel. Obviously with the art we threw in some pink as well and most of our accents are chrome(chair legs, shelves, lamp bases, etc). D was really sweet about letting me pick whichever colors I wanted to use and because they're so girly I decided to throw in all the chrome accents and the industrial-ish style shelves and tin bins.
I love this chair (via Inspiration) so much. We wanted a big comfy chair for the corner of the room because sometimes when I'm editing photos, which is the most time consuming part of my days on the computer, D likes to hang out with me and fiddle with the laptop. This chair was exactly what we wanted, has three different positions(the back sits completely upright, as pictured above, or lays all the way down like a giant ottoman) & was on sale. It was still a splurge but we figured it was a chair we could always find a home for in the living room if we ever moved and it didn't work in the new office.

We scored this shelving unit and the bins from Lowes.
All of my crafting supplies fit perfectly into the bins and I love that you can see right through the shelves and can find things easier. This also seconds as a desk for our laptop and books.

I thought it was cute to display some of my sewing thread on the cube shelves.
You can check out how the chevron backings came to be here.
Our computer chair was also an Inspiration find. It's cool and comfy, the ideal office chair!
You can download this awesome screensaver here.
I prefer to use the Apple Magic Trackpad over a mouse. I guess it's an old habit after using only a laptop for so many years.
As soon as we decided we'd transition this room to an office I knew I wanted to work in a telephone somehow. At first I thought maybe we would add an actual landline and I'd buy a vintage phone from somewhere, but then I found this awesome handset that plugs right into your iPhone! I love it so much! Every time I come to work in the office I immediately plug my cell in and take all my calls on it. It's adorable, cheap & fun. You can find them here in many different colors(just scroll down to choose other colors). I decided to hang it with an extra frame hanger we had and it fit perfectly. I also found a picture of a vintage phone dial pad and made it the home screensaver on my iPhone just for fun.
From top left, clockwise: I dug up some of our old band business cards and found a home for them on the desk - a framed photo of our little family and some other nik naks - fresh flowers in vintage vases/post its/basic office supplies - Bose iPod dock to add a little music to my blogging routine.
We used a bucket from a local hardware store for our trash can and I bought all of the organizing boxes from Target.
As most of you know due to this and this, I went with these three posters for the wall art. I found them all here. Thanks to Brandy for the tip! The artist is Avalisa.
You can't help but love walking into your office every morning when you're walking on this soft rug. Sometimes Rowan and I just lie on it and watch the trees sway out the window. It softens up the tiny echo-y room and is another little retro throw back. It was yet another Target purchase.
If you have any questions about where I bought anything, etc. feel free to ask in the comments and I'll get right back to you.
I hope you all love the room as much as I do!
